Allison G. Mawhinney



Mrs. Mawhinney represents individuals, employers, government entities, insurance companies and other organizations in civil and workers' compensation appeals in keeping with the firm's long history of appellate practice. Her experience spans from involvement at the trial level through appellate brief-writing, oral argument, and post-appeal motions. In addition, Mrs. Mawhinney's practice includes insurance coverage disputes, coverage opinions, and bad faith claims.

Mrs. Mawhinney has co-authored and presented a variety of seminars pertinent to both attorneys and insurance adjusters. Seminar topics include the bad faith "set-up," discovery disputes and ideas for creatively resolving them, the hallmarks of litigation cases that may be destined for trial, questionable spinal injury cases, and defending the low-speed automobile negligence claims on a budget.

Mrs. Mawhinney is a member of the Florida Bar and its Appellate Practice Section. She is admitted to the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. In addition, Mrs. Mawhinney is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Her DRI committee memberships include the Appellate Advocacy, and Women in the Law Committees. She is also a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) Amicus Curiae and Insurance Coverage Committees. In addition, Mrs. Mawhinney is a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association and is part of its Appellate Law Section.
